Destiny 2 for PC - What to know before Pre-ordering

Destiny 2 is a MMO shooter and will be released on October 24th 2017 for PC. Buy the Battle.net key for Destiny 2 at Gamesplanet to get Early Access to the Beta on August 28th. Here is the most important info about the game.

Destiny - is that not just a console game?

Unlike it's predecessor Destiny, the sequel will also be making it's debut on PC. While PC gamers looked at the original title with envy, developers Bungie and publisher Activision have listened to the community and will now be giving the PC crowd a chance to play the latest open world MMO shooter later this year! As Destiny is one of the most popular MMO shooters on the market, they are hoping to widen their community even further by releasing the sequel on console and PC. With tremendous success on the consoles with the original game, Destiny 2 will hopefully bring the MMO FPS Genre back to life on PC as gamers experience an ever changing world filled with events, combat and of course loot.

Destiny 2 Release Dates

With Destiny 2, the popular FPS MMO world by Bungie is making a debut on PC at long last! No longer will gamers have to worry about not owning a console to play with their friends (Note: You will have to play on the same platform still as the game is not cross platform). Although the PC version is launching a little later than the console counterpart, you can expect the same great level of content in both versions!

Destiny 2 is arriving on Xbox One and PS4 on September 6th, then just over a month later the PC version will launch on October 24th. But you won't need to wait that long, as the beta begins on August 28th for PC, and with our keys we'll make sure you have Early Access to the Beta event, so you can feast your eyes on jaw dropping gameplay on your mighty machine before everyone else plays during the open beta on August 29th.

Destiny 2 PC Beta Dates

Here are the current PC Beta dates for Destiny 2, you will be able to begin playing from August 28th (if you have pre-ordered). Should you not want to pre-order the game will be Open Beta from August 29th. It's still unclear when they will open up preloads for the Beta but we suspect it will happen a few days prior to the Early Access launch.

  • Early Access: August 28th
  • Open Beta: August 29th
  • Beta Ends: August 31st

When the game was tested on console it was extended by a further day, will the PC Beta also be extended? It's unclear but it may be likely. We still don't have much idea about what is planned for the Beta either, console had access to the Homecoming Mission, Inverted Spire, 2 PVP Maps, 3 Classes and for a limited time - The Farm Social Hub was available to stress test.

Redeeming the game / Beta Keys

As Gamesplanet is an official authorized retailer for Activision Blizzard, we'll be sure to send the main game key in time for release - or if a preload phase appears we will make sure you have it to allow plenty of time to download the game ahead of release. You will be able to redeem the code for Destiny 2 on Battle.net (Blizzard's own platform for PC titles, including Overwatch, World of Warcraft and more).

The beta keys for Destiny 2 will be sent to customers who pre-order in time for the start of the Early Access Beta on PC (starting August 28th). These will not be activated on Battle.net, but rather the developer Bungie's very own website on the their dedicated beta redemption page. For beta registration, you will need to first make an account on Bungie.net and redeem the beta code (when it's available). We will start sending beta codes out for people to redeem as soon as we get approval from Activision, and expect them to go out before the launch of the PC Beta.

Should you encounter any issues you can reach out to us ([email protected]) or get in touch on one of our social channels below!

Activision has set up a region restriction policy for distribution and that means only people within Europe (including the overseas territories) will be able to enjoy Destiny 2 on PC from us. For more information, please check the country restrictions to see if you're eligable to activate the game in your region. Gamesplanet is one of the very few retailers who are authorized by Activision to sell Battle Net keys legally, as such you will be guaranteed a full copy of the Game and get all pre-oder bonuses, including the Early Access Beta Key for the upcoming PC Beta!

The Official Destiny 2 Pre-order Page mentions Gamesplanet, on the Standard and Deluxe!

Fans can get a general idea of performance as some footage for Destiny 2 running on Ultra at 60 FPS / 4k has given a glimpse at what we can expect. The Story of Destiny 2

Did you play the original game? Well no need to worry, as Destiny 2 will offer newcomers a way to get into the game without needing much in the way of backstory. The main focus on Destiny 2 will center around Dominus Ghaul and his Red Legion, with the Legion being a faction of the Cabal (an alien race who were a little upset at what we did to them in the original game).

Dominus Ghaul has decided to attack and destroy the game's central hub, The Tower, and imprison the giant floating orb known as the Traveller (which gives our heroes their power). You will be thrust into a world to locate and return the missing Vanguard from deep in the solar system and bring back favourites like Cayde-6, and Vanguard leaders Ikora Rey and Commander Zavala to help in the fight against the Red Legion.

As we journey we'll get to know more about the mysterious past of Ghaul, why did he attack and what secrets does he hold? Turns out, he may not be acting alone and is possibly following the orders of The Consul (his mentor) as the game explores what drives him. We do know that he believes that the Traveller made the wrong choice in picking us and should have picked the Cabal instead, a motivation that will see him vying for power during the story. When you are thrown into the start of Destiny 2, you will take on the mighty Red Legion as they take the fight to Earth's Last City and attempt to repel the enemy force by any means necessary.

Once again you will be playing as a Guardian, at the start of the game you will have access to powers capable of delivering powerful attacks. But during the events of the opening, you will lose these powers and have to regain them in progression as the story unfolds and you explore the universe.

Soon on Gamesplanet: We'll break down all the different classes for Destiny 2, enemy types, more about the gameplay mechanics and an overview for locations of this massive open world MMO FPS hit from Bungie (which will see you travel among the stars to the far reaches of the solar system).

Remember Destiny 2 comes to PC on October 24th and the beta is starting August 28th, so be prepared and hit up one of our great pre-orders - both of which will offer early access to the upcoming beta!

Destiny 2 Standard Edition for PC is now available to pre-order on Gamesplanet. If you're looking to get the complete package, then we've also got the Digital Deluxe Edition for you - which will contain the Season Pass and be the ultimate experience for Destiny 2.

Has bungie touched upon the character transfer from D1 to D2? Especially for new pc players.

I am hoping I can continue playing D2 with my warlock.
I know my gear will be wiped but i just hope i can link my PlayStation account to my battle.net account to get my old character and continue playing.

They have indeed touched on that, just your characters race, class and appearance will transfer over. You can read Eurogamer's article on that here http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-03-03-destiny-characters-will-not-carry-over-to-destiny-2

Yeah I knew that, but the character transfer has only been confirmed for consoles. Just hope we can copy the characters from consoles to pc.
