Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Para Bellum details revealed

The upcoming Operation Para Bellum update for Rainbow Six Siege promises to be the largest update yet, featuring a new map, two new operators and more. Coming to the public test server tomorrow with a full launch in June.

Everyone's favourite team based shooter Rainbow Six Siege will soon get one of the largest updates for the game as Operation Para Bellum arrives next month. The next update will feature a brand new Villa Map, two new operators and some new gameplay options including being able to ban operators from a round at the start. Year Three Season 2 also adds a new gadget, operator speed adjustments and more. Players will be able to get their hands on the update from tomorrow (May 22nd) as it goes live on the Public Test Server while they wait for the June release.

Get up to speed with the Operation Para Bellum update with a handy gameplay tips video which details the new map and two brand new operators in greater detail!

New Operators: Alibi and Maestro

Operation Para Bellum adds two brand new operators, each with their own unique abilities. First up we've got Alibi, who is an undercover infiltration specialist working for the Gruppo di Intervento Speciale. She's able to use her deployable hologram to get the drop on foes by creating duplicates of herself - and if any enemy shoots one, then they will reveal their position and allow others to spot them. The other new operata is Maestro, another member of the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (or G.I.S for short). He's able to deploy a remote access turret that is bulletproof and able to withstand gunfire as well as seeing through smoke while firing laser beams.

New Map: Villa

Rainbow Six Siege's 20th map is the luxurious Tuscan villa, which is home to the Vinciguerra crime family who are known for their smuggling activities. You arrive at an important time as the family has fled their retreat, leaving behind some valuable assets and information for the taking. The Villa itself was designed for eSports from the ground up and provides wide staircases, narrow tunnels, destructible floors and secret hatches as teams find the best way to flank enemies.

Other Features

Operation Para Bellum will also feature the Pick & Ban system, which allows each team to ban certain operators from play that round - but be warned as banning an operator from play will also force your team to lose out on that operator too!

Aside from the new Operators and Villa Map, players can enjoy a range of new things coming with the update including:

  • Deployable Bullet Proof Cameras
  • New Counter Defuser Animation
  • Dropshotting Adjustments
  • Weapon Sight Misalignment Adjustments
  • New Observation Tool Management
  • Operator Speed Adjustments
  • Echo Buff
  • Clubhouse Map Buff

Players will be able to test Operation Para Bellum from tomorrow (May 22nd) when it goes live on the Public Test Server, which allows players a chance to preview the upcoming content ahead of the release in June.
