BANDAI NAMCO has decided to surprise us and release their World War II Story Adventure 11-11 Memories Retold sooner then expected. To spice things up they given us a launch trailer. What makes this title so special?
This product is more of an digital art rather than a game, but make no mistake, 11-11 Memories Retold shouldn't go unnoticed. The game tells war stories of the First World War on it's 100th anniversary and aims to move you with it's emotional content. BANDAI NAMCO, Aarman Studios and DigixArt released the game unexpectedly a few hours earlier. BANDAI also gave us a launch trailer to share.
11-11 Memories Retold is a narrative adventure game which focuses its plot on stories about "life" on the front during the battles in the First World War. We will be told the story of Harry a Canadian photographer and adventurer, who eventually regrets coming to war engulfed land. We will also get to know Kurt - German technician who's searching for his missing son. Soon they will realize that being there is not an adventure nor simple search for missing family member but a fight for survival.
Don't worry about the trailer quality it's not YouTube compression bomb, its an idiosyncratic art style. All scenes from 11-11 Memories Retold look like they've been artistically transferred onto canvas and animated. Add to that the high-quality music of composer Olivier Deriviére and the dubbing voices of Elijah Wood and Sebastian Koch - we have unusual artistic product on our monitors ready to be played.
According to creative director Yoan Fanise, players in 11-11 Memories Retold make decisions that may have far-reaching consequences on the gameplay. The game deliberately arouses emotions and touch hearts, says Daniel Efergan of Aardman Animations. Two ordinary people in the rather unusual setting of the First World War: the perfect stage for artistic play of graphics and narrative.
