Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy - More Action and Release Date Confirmed with Trailer
Asobo Studio unveils Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy—the action-adventure game is set to release on August 27, 2026, for PC. It takes a different approach than its predecessors in the series.
Sophia gets her own adventure
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a prequel to the award-winning A Plague Tale series and takes place 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem. This time, you step into the boots of Sophia—younger, wilder, and still searching for her own story. The action-adventure game sends you to the legendary Island of the Minotaur, where you’ll fight your way through dangerous areas, solve puzzles, and uncover a dark truth about Sophia’s past. Compared to its predecessors, the focus this time is much more on direct combat—swords instead of slingshots, so to speak. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t still some puzzles to solve.
Myth Meets the Middle Ages
Through flashbacks and visions, Resonance connects the Middle Ages with Minoan civilization, creating a setting that stands in stark contrast to Amicia and Hugo’s story. The game draws on numerous elements of Minoan mythology, particularly the tales of the Minotaur and the Greek hero Theseus. By Sophia’s side is her friend Leni—and somewhere on the island, another unexpected ally from ancient legends awaits. The soundtrack is composed by Olivier Derivière, who previously composed the music for Innocence and Requiem.
Pre-orders for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will start soon on Gamesplanet—keep your eyes peeled!
