Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve - Trailer Shows Aircraft in Detail
With “The Art of Aircraft,” Bandai Namco is rolling out a new trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which is entirely dedicated to the aircraft models and the company's proprietary cloud rendering technology.
Instead of explosions and dogfights, this time the video for Ace Combat 8 focuses on the technology: In “The Art of Aircraft,” developer Project Aces shows just how meticulously the jets in Ace Combat 8 were modeled—from the outer hull all the way into the cockpit. Featured aircraft include the F-22A Raptor, Gripen-E, Su-47, Su-35S Flanker-E, Mirage 2000-5, and the F-35C Lightning II. This is sure to be a treat for aviation fans; after all, each cockpit looks like a little work of art in its own right.
Even though Ace Combat 8 runs on Unreal Engine 5, Project Aces has come up with something unique for the sky: a proprietary technology for multi-layered clouds. The result is said to be a more realistic, varied sky—including greater contrast between the ground and the airspace. Anyone who’s ever lost their bearings in a dogfight knows how important good visibility can be.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will be released on October 2, 2026, for PC. Pre-order now to secure the F-14A and access to Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War.
