[E3 2018] Bioware's Action RPG Anthem launching February 22nd
Developer Bioware and publisher Electronic Arts reveal the release date for their upcoming Action RPG Anthem during their EA Play event at E3 2018. Game arrives February 22nd 2019.
EA Play has kicked off the E3 2018 with a bang and delivered some new details on Bioware's upcoming Action RPG Anthem, which will see players exploring a large open world. Not only did we get a cinematic trailer and some fresh gameplay footage (below) but we now know when the game is coming out. Players can expect to jump into the open world game on February 22nd 2019 and explore the world solo or team up with friends in co-op.
Thanks to a new video from IGN Game Director Jon Warner gives us a taste of what to expect from the main game with footage from the gameplay demo that was shown at EA Play (with the full demo being available to play at the event itself). In the demo players suit up in their very own Javelin exosuit and team up with 3 other players as they seek to take on the challenges in the world.
The game will support 4 players, and will allow 4 separate suits to be equipped by the player - each with their own unique powers and looks. For example the Colossus Javelin is a slow moving tank that is capable of withstanding damage while keeping his allies shielded or the Ranger Javelin who can dash, double jump and strike from above with rockets that lock onto an enemy. The other two Javelins were not playable, but hopefully we'll learn more about them in the near future.
Anthem will be available on February 22nd 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
