Assassin's Creed Odyssey: December Updates include Legacy of the First Blade (Episode 1) and more

Prepare for another month of fantastic Assassin's Creed Odyssey content as Ubisoft reveals what is on the horizon for December. New DLC, Free Story Content and more!

The sea calls to you once again as you embark on brand new challenges with the December updates for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. As with last month's updates, there's plenty to look forward to this month - including the first chapter of the "Legacy of the First Blade" and more. Let's take a look at what's in store for players this month!

Legacy of the First Blade (Episode 1)

Darius, a mysterious Persian Warrior was the first Assassin to wield the iconic Hidden Blade, and in doing so changed the course of history. Find out more about him and his motives with the first chapter of "Legacy of the First Blade", which will add a brand new story arc to the game that is available to all owners of the Season Pass (or available separately). Gain new abilities and legendary equipment as you battle the Persians on land and sea.

To start the DLC players must complete the Naxos questline in Episode 7 of the game and be at least level 28 or higher. The final two episodes of the Legacy of the First Blade will be released early next year.

Lost Tales of Greece - The Image of Faith

Another free piece of story content will be available with the release of the Lost Tales of Greece - The Image of Faith, which will see you meeting the famous sculptor, Polykleitos, in Arkadia. To get started you'll need to visit the region of Elis and the first quest is called "The Measure of a Man". It's recommended that you start this quest after reaching level 35, and will be available to players after they reach Episode 5 in the main story.

Photo mode Improvements, New Rewards and Mastery System

Photo Mode
One of the highly popular features of the game is the Photo Mode, which allows players to take beautiful screenshots all over Ancient Greece. This month will see players getting even more tools added with the addition of Bloom and Fog options. These new features will come in handy as there is a photo contest starting on December 10th - with the first theme being based on the Aegean Sea.

Mastery System
Released last week, the new Mastery System allows players who have reached the maximum level to continue upgrading their character with new skill points that increase their damage, resistance, health, armour, adrenaline, and much more. Like with Assassin's Creed Origins, you're free to continue adding points into passive traits that enhance your character further.

New Rewards
Unlock the Tyrrhenian Ship design for your ship with the new Ubisoft Club Reward, which can be yours for 30 club points. You can even recruit The Rooks to your ship crew, who were last seen in the streets of Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

The Celestial Pack
Explore Ancient Greece with the brand new Celestial Pack, which adds a new gear set, a ghostly mount and a powerful new weapon. You can also get hold of the matching ship design to strike terror into enemies at sea with the Celestial Naval Pack that adds a new ship design, crew theme and figurehead.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available now, and has already seen extra content arrive earlier this week as the first DLC Pack "Legacy of the First Blade" released the first chapter of the story to all owners of the Season Pass/Gold/Ultimate Edition.
