Assetto Corsa EVO: Video with info about Early Access content and special features

Racing sim fans to the starting grid! Sim specialist KUNOS Simulazioni is launching Assetto Corsa EVO in Early Access on January 16th 2025. A longer info video from the studio shows what makes AC EVO so special and what content you can expect in Early Access.

Assetto Corsa Evo, the successor to Assetto Corsa Competizione, which was released in 2019, will enter the Early Access phase on 16 January 2025. Road cars, hypercars, some classic racing machines, prototypes and fast racing cars will provide playful variety in AC EVO. All super-detailed and authentically realised - including correct simulation of the respective driving physics, of course.

But that's not all: the Free-Roam mode is new in Assetto Corsa EVO. For the first time in an Assetto Corsa racing game, the Free-Roam mode lets you explore an open game world and master challenges in no less than 600 square kilometres of landscape, which has been transferred from reality to the simulation using a lidar scanner. Traditional racetracks will of course continue to exist in AC EVO, because despite the free-roam plans, Assetto Corsa EVO remains a genuine, realistic simulation.

Developer KUNOS has opted for the area around the Nürburgring, which should please German sim racers in particular. This free-roam content will be released in stages during the Early Access phase. Thanks to drone scans and photogrammetry, significant buildings and locations in the region are to be marvelled at in the game with ultra-realistic representations. However, some things are also procedurally generated.

In an ‘Everything you need to know about Assetto Corsa EVO’ video, developer KUNOS presents the most important innovations and features of the upcoming racing simulation in detail. It also explains the influence that the development of the in-house KUNOS engine will have on the graphical presentation of AC EVO. Dynamic weather changes, global lighting effects, improved rendering with more realistic reflections. In addition, KUNOS explains the role of suspensions in interaction with bumps on the tracks and how moisture on the tracks and rubber abrasion will also influence vehicle handling.
