Astral Ascent: Crossover update featuring Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 now available – game now 67% off

Astral Ascent has just received a very exciting, free update that brings bosses, rooms and companions from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 into the roguelite. We’re now temporarily reducing the price of Astral Ascent by 67% to celebrate this fantastic collaboration.

Astral Ascent is an action roguelite in the style of a 2D platformer. You choose one of four heroes and battle your way through the Garden, an astral prison guarded by twelve powerful Zodiac bosses. Every run demands quick reflexes and a clever spell build.

Crossover Update: Expedition 33 Meets Pixel Art

Developer Hibernian Workshop has realised the crossover with the acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in collaboration with Sandfall Interactive. It was unveiled at the Triple-i Initiative. The update is free; you’ll unlock it as soon as you’ve completed Astral Ascent at Destiny Level 0.

There are three new bosses, each with their own mechanics:

• Golgra delivers kicks, gets help from little Gestrals and gets really angry in Phase 2.
• The Mime comes in a pair. If you don’t take them both down almost simultaneously, they’ll get back up.
• Pétank initially retreats, but then rains down projectiles, mixing in clones and explosions.

There are also three areas: Lumière, the Gestral village and a quiet campfire. They appear at random before the world boss. Per run, each world offers a choice between the Andromeda Bar and Expedition 33 content. Hesitate, and you’ll miss your chance.

Allies by the Campfire

By the campfire, you choose one of three randomly offered expedition members as a special summon. Gustave heals and charges up an arm strike. Maelle switches stances depending on her health; Sciel draws cards; Lune casts elemental spells; Verso gains rank for attack bonuses; and Monoco summons monsters using a random card.
