Explore the fantasy RPG world of Avowed on February 18th

Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed is set to be the biggest project for the company, as the company prepares for launch later this month on February 18th (or the 13th with the Premium Edition).

Set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian Entertainment's latest fanstasy RPG that's meant to be more bitesized in comparison to some of it's larger counterparts. Meaning it's close to their previous work on The Outer Worlds (which is also getting a sequel sometime in 2025) and players should be able to finish it in under 40 hours.

Make no mistake though, even with a smaller game there's still plenty to do in the game as you explore a semi open world, filled with zones and various quests to take part in. You play as an emissary of the Aedyr sent to the mysterious island of the Living Lands to investigate the spread of a mysterious plague. Players will be able to mix spells, swords and weapons to fight their way through deadly encounters. Freeze foes in their tracks or burn them to ashes.

The game is also completely single player, meaning no micro transactions and no lootboxes. Even the Standard Edition doesn't have a pre-order bonus tied to it (unless you want to get the Premium Edition that offers 5 days advanced access by pre-ordering).
