Bomber Crew makes $1 million in the first week of sales, more content planned
The surprise hit of October is the strategic survival sim Bomber Crew, which has surpassed $1 million in the first week of sales. Developers plan to create more content.
The month of October had some big hits, but it also saw the release of the simulation management game Bomber Crew. In Bomber Crew you control a squad of bombers as they try to pilot a Bomber and reach their objective. Recently it was revealed that this Indie hit had managed to surpass $1 million in the first week of sales. Lead Designer Dave Miller spoke to Rock Paper Shotgun about the recent success and what the future holds:
The reception for Bomber Crew has been really good. We’ve got plans for the franchise, not just to take it sideways and do the obvious things. We will now definitely be able to do the next big thing. That’s another title, but it’s quite a way off.
While Runner Duck has spoke about a new game, do not expect to see it anytime soon as it could be a few years before it emerges. That doesn't mean that Bomber Crew is forgotten though as the developers plan to keep supporting the game with new content. Recently they even launched a skin pack that gives players 10 new skins for only £1.99. They're also planning to add new updates and free content in the future, as well as quality of life changes to make the game better.
According to a report on PC Gamer, the pause function is one of the most requested updates that players wish for in Bomber Crew. A slow-motion feature is also included, so it's a little less chaotic on board. All of this will setup the future to allow bigger paid expansions. By the end of the year we can expect to see the first expansion for the game, and another in 2018 which is something that "everyone's asking for."
