Borderlands 4 is here! And with the release of the sequel to the looter shooter series, the trade press is coming out with test results. Is the fourth instalment just as impressive?

It will continue to be worthwhile for Gearbox to stick with the Borderlands brand. With today's release of Borderlands 4, magazines and portals around the world are publishing their test results. And lo and behold: unless there is a surprising shift in the average rating on the usual rating aggregators such as Metacritic or Opencritic, Borderlands 4 will rise above its predecessor Borderlands 3 in the rankings. Borderlands 4 currently has an average rating of 84 out of 100 on Metacritic. Nice! Borderlands 3 has 81 points. On Opencritic, Borderlands 4 has even broken the 85 mark.
