Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - How Nvidia tech improves the game

In the context of the announcement of new RTX graphics cards of the Ampere series, Nvidia does not omit to demonstrate the advantages of the graphics accelerators in combination with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Videos make the graphic polish clear.

Without a doubt, publisher Activision will once again land a big hit with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War later this year on November 13th. Nvidia will continue to give gamers plenty to look forward to with new technologies giving better performance and visual spectacles for us to enjoy. In the PC version of the game players will be able to enjoy everything that Nvidia cards have to offer including: Raytracing, DLSS and the brand new "Reflex", which gives lower latency for competitive gamers.

The AI fights at your side

Nvidia has teamed up with Treyarch, Raven and Beenox for a number of optimizations - COD Black Ops Cold War is optimized for Nvidia graphics cards, but this does not mean that AMD users have to accept huge sacrifices. With DLSS, Nvidia can conjure up a performance boost that definitely has a positive effect on FPS. Take a look at the Nvidia announcement video for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War here:

For the first time, the new technologies raytracing, Nvidia DLSS and Nvidia Reflex will come together in one game when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is released on November 13th 2020. Lots of light, lots of shadow - but fortunately the shadows are only available as a visual treat. Nvidia DLSS ensures that despite raytracing and many graphical details, your weapons won't stutter thanks to a smooth refresh rate. A Deep Learning System (AI) sharpens the image using an algorithm, while the newer RTX cards benefit from the AI-processing Tensor computing units to boost things further*emphasized text*. Low resolution image portions can thus be extrapolated at lower power requirements, resulting in sharper image details and higher frame rates. How DLSS works is shown in a video published in March:

For the new Nvidia reflex technology you do not need necessarily one of the recently presented RTX maps, thus no RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and also no (very expensive) RTX 3090. Already starting from a GTX 900 the technology seizes. Reflex is to relieve the graphics card while it has to fight with high load. This leads to low latency times (low latency mode) and of course shooter fans won't say no to that. Nvidia Reflex uses a just-in-time rendering technology for this. At the same time, the Latency Analyzer even analyzes mouse clicks and brings them in line with the advantageous low latencies. This is an advantage for a fast paced game like COD Black Ops Cold War and may help some players, but currently the Reflex Latency Analyzer is currently only supported by 360 Hz G-Sync screens. Competitive oriented players might feel called upon to plunder their accounts for a technology upgrade.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also have Nvidia's Ansel technology in tow, giving gamers even more ways to share content with their friends. With it you will create very high resolution screenshots (in high quality), as well being able to use Nvidia Highlights to ensure that you won't lose any important gaming clips in the middle of a game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War can already be pre-ordered at Gamesplanet with up to 10% off and can be activated directly on your Battle Net account.
