COD WW2: The Resistance Event arrives today!
The Resistance Event for Call of Duty: World War 2 arrives today, adds new weekly events and rewards in preparation for the upcoming Resistance DLC Pack. Winter Carentan also returns.
Attention soldier, you're not finished on the frontlines and you're hereby requested to report for duty once more as The Resistance community event for Call of Duty: World War 2 launches today. This new 5 week event will run from January 23rd - February 27th, and offers players a chance to try out new game modes and get their hands on some cool rewards in the process. The event is inspired by the French Resistance and Allied Resistance in World War II, and the efforts they carried out. The Resistance was made up of a number of countries including: Poland, France and the Soviet Union. It was a dark time in history, but the Resistance banded together and fought against the German Forces to ensure the safety of their homelands.
The Resistance Event (and also upcoming DLC) was heavily inspired by historical events, and much of it can be found within the game, from the weapons that were used to the clothing that was worn. New outfits will also be present, and representing the countries that fought in the War. You can get your first look at the event in this new trailer!
There is also a new Division coming to multiplayer, with the release of "The Resistance" Division. Get ready to level a brand new division, as you travel Europe and fight back against the German Forces. The Resistance Division brings with it new skills and specializations, such as being able to scramble enemy maps or the new Pistol Tactical Knife.
The Resistance Event Calendar
All month long players will be able to engage in a number of activities as part of The Resistance Event which kicks off later today, which will also include a number of new modes such as "Demolition" and "Prop Hunt". Those who get their hands on the paid DLC (or have it with the Season Pass) can also try out brand new maps, a new war mode and the next chapter in the Nazi Zombies story.
Week 1: For the first week Prop Hunt comes to Call of Duty: WW2, and players will need to use all their detective work to uncover players disguised as objects hiding around the map. The key to success is stealth.
Week 2: This week marks the launch of The Resistance: DLC Pack 1 launching on PS4 (others will need to wait to get their hands on it). The DLC adds in 3 new maps for multiplayer, a new "War Mode" experience and the next chapter in the Nazi Zombies Campaign "The Darkest Shore".
Week 3: Another new multiplayer mode comes to the game as "Demolition" arrives. This will be a a mode similar to Search and Destroy, but with Bombs. The difference is that respawns will be allowed, and each time someone respawns they will get a bomb that needs to be planted. Both sites need to be destroyed in order to win.
Week 4: Gun Game returns, players can once again progress through all kinds of weapons as they kill enemies. In order to win the match, you'll need to use all your skill with weapons (including knives) to come out on top. Get a kill with the final weapon before others to win.
Week 5: Prop Hunt returns, and this time it brings with it the "Bomb Mosh Pit" playlist which is made up of Demolition and Search and Destroy modes.
Plus you can keep an eye out during the events for special 2x XP to give you a boost to your progress.
Fan favourite map Winter Carentan is also coming back, after being such a big hit in recent Winter events it's coming back as something special for the community.
Lastly, Captain Butcher is making his return to the game, bringing with him a number of new resistance wepaon rewards such as: the Orso, the Volkssturmgewehr, and the Combat Knife. He will have new Daily and Weekly Orders, Contracts and will also give you a weekly gift in your mail for free each week!
