Code Vein II - The depth of the new combat system explained in the “overview” trailer
We dive into the gameplay of Code Vein 2 with an overview trailer. This dense piece reviews Bandai Namco's post-apocalyptic action RPG. Scheduled for release on January 30, 2026 (and January 27 for the Deluxe and Ultimate), the game evolves most of its mechanics.
The trailer focuses on Drain Attacks and Formae (special attacks that literally and figuratively transform your fighting style). New equipment called Jails completes the specialization, while the addition of Twin Blades and Rune Blades opens the door to even more variety, boosted by a revamped Blood Code system for theorycrafting purists.
And because you don't hunt revenants alone, the trailer also shows the Partner System, where each ally brings link, assimilation, or resurrection effects. Between that, the return of signature environments, and the character editor demo scheduled for January 22, there's plenty to look forward to in this “soulslike anime.”
