Corsair Cove: Trailer Shows the “Devil's Basin” Map

Corsair Cove has released a new trailer titled “Devil's Basin Island,” which showcases one of the construction sites in Hooded Horse's pirate city-builder—complete with shipwrecks, a waterfall, and mysterious structures of unknown origin.

Pirate romance meets city-building strategy: Corsair Cove from developer Limbic Entertainment and publisher Hooded Horse reveals another location in its latest trailer, following last week’s introduction of “Skull Rock Island” — Devil’s Basin. The name sounds like trouble, and indeed, the clip warns unequivocally right at the start: First impressions can be terribly deceiving. Beneath the island’s picturesque surface, quite a bit of danger lurks.

What Awaits You in Devil's Basin

If you think pirate games are all about the clang of sabers, you’re in for a surprise here. Devil's Basin offers fertile land and plenty of space to build your budding pirate colony—even if it doesn’t look like it at first glance. A particularly lovely sight: an ancient tree right in the middle of the island. I wonder what its story is? If you’d rather listen to the sound of a waterfall in Corsair Cove than count cannonballs, you’ll find the perfect spot for that, too.

But things get really interesting when you look at the details on the edge of the map: a stranded pirate fleet lies on the island, having lost its final battle long ago—and with it, plenty of loot just waiting to be plundered. At the same time, scattered ruins and structures suggest that you aren’t the first to try to plant your flag here. Who was here before you—and whether things will end peacefully—remains a closely guarded secret for now.

City-Building with a Pirate Twist

In Corsair Cove, you take command of a handful of stranded pirates and build a home from scratch—vertically, since flat land is in short supply on the game’s islands. You construct buildings on steep slopes, connect production chains via bridges, cable cars, and elevators, and develop your settlement along four different paths. Whether you’re a peaceful trade mogul or a buccaneer with a grappling hook—Corsair Cove lets you choose.

Devil’s Basin is one of several islands awaiting you in the full release. The PC release of Corsair Cove is scheduled for July 31, 2026—so it won’t be long before you can decide for yourself where to fly your flag.
