Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - PC Launch Trailer showcases PC Tech
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to release on March 19 for PC—yet it’s (undeservedly) overshadowed by the Crimson Desert release. The launch trailer, “No Rain, No Rainbow,” showcases the PC version’s technical advantages over the PS5 hit.
Hideo Kojima’s epic courier saga is entering its second round on PC: In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, you once again take on the role of Sam (Norman Reedus) and set out on a journey through various inhospitable biomes. This time, to connect Mexico and Australia to the Chiral Network and save humanity from extinction once again. Sounds like a relaxing weekend trip, but of course it isn’t. Even DHL drivers tip their hats to the achievements of Sam Porter Bridges.
Sam delivers again—now as a ray-traced ray of sunshine
Death Stranding 2 is a standalone sequel to the 2019 original and builds on the proven gameplay concept: Plan routes, master deliveries, take out enemies as stealthily as possible, and share online structures with other Porters. All of this is woven into a cinematic story featuring a star-studded cast, including Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Troy Baker, and Guillermo del Toro.
PC Version Packed with Impressive Tech
Nixxes Software has packed the suitcase for the PC port—and it’s well-stocked. Here’s what makes the PC version better than the original console release:
- Upscaling & frame generation via NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS
- Ray tracing for reflections on water surfaces and tar, as well as more realistic shadows through ambient occlusion
- Unlocked frame rate and extensive graphics settings
- Super-ultrawide (32:9) in gameplay, ultrawide (21:9) in cutscenes as well
- Mouse and keyboard support with customizable buttons
- DualSense integration with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers
- Spatial audio

New “To the Wilder” Mode and Fresh Content
PC players will be able to enjoy the new “To the Wilder” mode right from the release of Death Stranding 2: a grueling challenge mode that pits Porters against deadly enemies in unforgiving environments—with no way back. Those who make it through can look forward to a healthy dose of satisfaction.
There are also new bandanas, a VR training area called “Trapped in a Strange Realm” (not VR-compatible, but a VR simulation within the game), a cute Chiral kitten in the private quarters aboard the DHV Magellan, and new Photo Mode content. The preload is already underway, and we’ve been delivering your pre-ordered Steam keys for some time now. It all kicks off on March 19, and then you’ll face the tough decision: “Crimson Desert first, or Death Stranding 2?”
