Destiny 2: Renegades – Film sequence for today's release of the ‘Star Wars expansion’

With Renegades, Destiny 2 begins its next chapter, which kicks off today with a cinematic trailer. Expect many changes in the game – and in some places, a new Star Wars look.

December 2nd 2025 will see publisher Bungie unveil Renegades, the second expansion for Destiny 2 this year. The new content is clearly inspired by iconic sci-fi epics: armour, items and other visual elements feature designs clearly inspired by Star Wars for the first time. To mark the release, Bungie is also showing a new cinematic trailer for a brief introduction to the story of the new chapter.

At the heart of the new story for Destiny 2 is the conflict with Dredgen Bael and his Barant Empire, which seeks to destabilise the Guardians. Players are supported by Dredgen Hope – better known as the Drifter – while new allies on Mars, including Vex in ponchos, help repel Bael's forces.

Renegades playfully brings 300 additional vault slots, decoupled exotic ornaments, adjustments to weapons, armour and abilities, and an XP boost for returning players, among other things. The seasonal power remains unchanged at 550. In addition, the new Equilibrium dungeon and revamped Vanguard messages await you for a better start to the week.
