Is the Destiny 2 DLC The Curse of Osiris arriving in December?

Popular gaming website Kotaku has shed light on one of Destiny 2's upcoming DLC packs, which is rumoured to launch in December and take place on the planet Mercury.

As the PC Beta begins to wind down later today, the rumour mill continues to swirl surrounding new content for the upcoming action shooter Destiny 2, and now new details have been revealed about the first DLC expansion that may not be too far from launch.

While some reports for Destiny 2 content may be fake, Kotaku has claims they have knowledge first hand about the upcoming DLC known as The Curse of Osiris with a launch planned for December. If true this lines up with previous DLC expansion plans for Destiny, which had the first DLC drop 3 months after the game released. To put it in perspective, Destiny launched on September 9th 2014 and The Dark Below expansion launched on December 9th. Destiny 2 arrives on console September 6th 2017, so if we follow the same pattern could we see "The Curse of Osiris" release on December 9th 2017?

A look at some of the planets for Destiny 2.

Kotaku has also mentioned a little more about the size of the expansion, with it being larger than The Dark Below DLC that arrived with the original Destiny. It will center around the space wizard Osiris and feature a number of additions including a new patrol zone, another social space and will take place on the planet Mercury.

The Social Space will take place in the Lighthouse, a place that was present in the original game for players who got flawless records in the PVP gauntlet Trials of Osiris. Much of the DLC will involve us saving Osiris, who has been mentioned previously in Destiny, however has not made an appearance in the series yet. Hopefully we'll hear more about the DLC soon, though Activision has yet to confirm any details on any DLC content yet.

Currently the PC Open Beta is scheduled to end today and has been a positive experience for many people, with some calling it a fantastic port. Have you played the Beta yet? It ends tonight at 6pm BST (unless they extend it that is).
