Expeditions: Rome announced for a 2021 release!

Lead one of the greatest empires in history. Many roads lead to Rome, but very few end at the upper echelons of empire leadership. The strategy RPG Expeditions: Rome, announced today, lets you rise from the very bottom to the very top.

After Expeditions: Conquistador and Expeditions: Viking, developer Logic Artists and publisher THQ Nordic have now set their sights on a Rome themed RPG strategy mix in the series. Expeditions: Rome has been announced today for a 2021 release with a trailer as well as a gameplay trailer giving a glimpse of what players can expect.

Right off the bat, Expeditions: Rome is more of a classic role-playing game than a strategy game. Nevertheless, we are dealing with gameplay mechanics that provide for tactical actions in the midst of turn-based battles. THQ Nordic praises the gripping story and strong characters in advance, calling Expeditions: Rome itself more or less jokingly a "Rome Playing Game". Your decisions determine the course of history - and the fate of the Roman Empire.

In the beginning, you merely beat back rebellious Greeks as a young legate of the Roman legion. A network of relationships soon develops among the characters and you have the chance to steer the political fate of the country as its leader. Turn-based battles cry out for individual tactics, but if you really want to be at least as powerful as Caesar, you should also have a flair for political intrigue.

Expeditions: Rome is currently in development for PC and should be available in 2021. Expect the Rome Playing Game to also be available for sale on Gamesplanet.
