Can I activate it on Steam, as I have the Steam edition of FS15? The comments are a bit confusing and contrary to your notice abut the compatibility.
replyThe expansion will not be a Steam code, you can however use the download with the Steam version.
Hope this clears it up for you.
replyIf you have the steam version, it is more convenient to buy through steam as this has to be installed manually in the pdlc folder on every device where you have the game installed. The activation key provided will not work with steam.

replyIt's not a Steam code, you can use it with the Steam version though just download the files and follow the instructions :)
