A million years in prison: fight your way to freedom in the Freedom Wars Remastered latest trailer

You are born completely innocent and are immediately imprisoned for a million years. Your offence: ‘Crime through life’. A new trailer reveals how you gain your freedom in Freedom Wars Remastered.

Going to prison for a million years just by being born sounds wild and utopian at first, this weird story. As utopian as anime games sometimes are. In the resource-poor world of Freedom Wars Remastered, Bandai Namco's remake of the PS Vita classic, prisoners, so-called ‘sinners’, can assert themselves on battlefields and earn their freedom. These pseudo-sinners take on dangerous, sometimes deadly missions and thus obtain their own resources. The Vita version of Freedom Wars was pretty well received as an action RPG at the time. Bandai Namco is releasing the improved remaster for PC on January 10th 2025. The publisher's new ‘System Trailer’ provides in-depth insights into the story, gameplay and game mechanics.

Some of the missions in Freedom Wars Remastered are very different from one another.For example, you are often sent out on rescue missions to free civilians from dicey situations In doing so, you will sometimes shoot huge enemies. Teamwork is also important here.You have a helpful cyborg guard at your side.In co-op and other multiplayer modes, shooting in teams is even more fun. Of course, solo players can also experience the complete campaign in Freedom Wars Remastered.

Freedom Wars Remaster with technical innovations

Of course, Bandai Namco is not simply launching Freedom Wars in 2025 with muddy Vita graphics. The new PC version comes with remastered graphics, i.e. with textures in a much higher resolution (also applies to cutscenes), 4K support, higher frame rates (FPS) and additional settings for the difficulty level. So more of a remake than ‘just’ a remaster? As Freedom Wars will also feature a complex weapon building system to keep you happy, developer Dimps Corporation has also reworked this and adapted it to today's requirements in terms of convenience and operation.

The development studio has also improved the combat system. In general, it should be easier to handle, as well as faster movements and the option to cancel actions with your spike weapon, taking the ‘high-speed action’ to a new level.Also nice: the controls will be customisable in Freedom Wars Remastered.
