Far Cry 5: Expand your game further with the Arcade Mode and Level Editor
Expand the open world first person shooter even further with the Far Cry 5 Arcade mode, feautring a level editor and much more. Allows users to bring other Ubisoft games such as Watch_Dogs, Assassin's Creed to the party.
We're only a few weeks out from the massive open world shooter Far Cry 5 as it launches on March 27th, and now new details have emerged surrounding one of the game's biggest features: Far Cry 5 Arcade which adds in a mnap editor for some crazy innovation and customiation. Players will be able to create their own single player, co-op or PVP levels and make their own customised experiences. You'll even be able to make them accessible into the main game and directly into your progression.
Lead Game Designer for Far Cry Arcade, Clark Davies explained the concept behind this new mode and what it means for gamers:
We've really pushed hard this time to make it a much more integral part of the Far Cry experience, and to really give it its own identity. We're going to make sure it's more visible than ever. Not just in our menus, but in the campaign itself. We're going to put arcade booths all around our campaign world in places where it makes sense. And then on top of that, there will be posters all over the game world, which will be simple portals to quick-launch you into our best featured maps.
Visit any Arcade Machine in the game and you'll be transported directly into Far Cry Arcade, where you can take a look at various user created levels and jump straight into the action. All XP, perks or money you earn in these levels will be carried over into the full game. Even more exciting is that you'll be able to customise your experience with assets from other Ubisoft titles such as Watch_Dogs 2 or even one of the Assassin's Creed games.
The critical thing for us is to make sure that the time players spend in Far Cry Arcade is equally as valued to them as the time that would be spent in the campaign. So we have a shared progression system to do that. All the rewards that you would normally earn in the campaign – money, items, weapons, vehicles, and so on – all of these are equally available to you in Far Cry Arcade, and vice versa. It's one profile; you take it back and forth between the game modes exactly as you'd like, whenever you like. Your time is equally valued wherever you spend it.
Expect a huge number of options to customise your level as you're provided with around 7,000 objects to use from all corners of the Ubisoft games library. Wanted to add a Yeti from Far Cry 4 into the mix? You'll be able to do that and much more!
Far Cry Arcade will also serve as the main area for the PVP Multiplayer and will bring new modes to the game like Bounty Hunt that tasks you with seeking out a specific target, or the Journey Mode, which requires players to find an exit in crazy levels such as an upside down clock dreamscape level with various floating furniture. Expect a number of other modes such as Beach Brawl, a 12 player team deathmatch map that features plenty of ruined shacks to hide in and get the drop on unsuspecting foes. Like with the main game, levels will offer up new ways to tackle various objectives and fight against the opposing faction.
You can get a glimpse at the new Arcade Mode with some gameplay footage from GameSpot who have given us 5 minutes of footage from the new mode.
After the launch of Far Cry 5 you can expect Arcade to be expanded even further and supported by the developers as they feature new maps each week from the community and oversea contests, tutorials, livestreams and more. You'll also be able to preview maps via the website and add them to a list so you can find them in the game when you load it up.
Far Cry 5 is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on March 27th. You can pre-order the PC version now and get bonuses for free when the game launches!
