Rayman Legends (Action Platformer)
If you're a fan of platformers such as Sonic or Mario then you may have heard of Rayman, this guy may lack limbs but he makes up for it with a stunning platform adventure that is one of the best on PC. Made up of various levels (including some from Rayman Origins) this platformer is fun for all ages and even features some great musical levels that see you run and jump in time to the background music. You're also able to compete with others as the game offers multiplayer modes and daily challenges to compete with others around the world.

L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition (Open World Action Detective Game)
Rockstar are known for creating some of the best Open World games with Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, but they've also been the masterminds behind the fantastic noir driven action game L.A Noire. Set during the 1940's, you'll play as Detective Cole Phelps who must solve cases in a classic version of Hollywood. Like with other Open World games from Rockstar you can take on things in a free roam form and explore the recreated city at leisure or tackle one of the many activities in the game. The game also features a few well known actors who not only lend their voice, but also their likeness to the game including John Noble (best known for his work in the Tv Series Fringe and Denethor from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy).

Dishonored - Definitive Edition (Action FPS Stealth)
If you're looking for a Stealth like action game where choices matter then Dishonored may be the game for you. You play as Corvo, the royal protector who is found guilly for a crime he didn't commit and must pursue the one responsible. Taking a queue from Half-Life 2 this first person game gives you access to supernatural powers that allow Corvo to posses creatures, blink forward (and up), summon a swarm of rats to devour a corpse and more. The world really comes to life in a beautiful art style that is almost like playing a painting in motion. Freedom to tackle missions your own way is key as the levels are semi open and you're able to find new ways to complete them. Last year also saw the saga continue with Dishonored 2, that gave players try out a new hero with new powers as a new threat emerged to attempt to claim the throne.

XCOM 2 (Turn-Based Tactics Third Person Shooter)
The Aliens continue to be a threat to Earth in XCOM 2, which is a sequel to the 2012 game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Much like the previous game you're able to tackle missions in a somewhat free form structure (though you'll still have linear path) as you build up your forces to stop the Aliens from taking over Earth. Build up your squad and take down the aliens in some exception turn based tactics which allow you to plan the best way to for eliminating threats. Upgrade your ship and arsenal to give you the best possible outcome when tackling missions, you're even able to take on multiplayer with other players to see who the best tactician is. If that wasn't enough you can make your very own mods to tweak the game to your personal preference, or add Corgis (yes Corgis) to the game!

Tekken 7 (Fighting Game)
The long awaited debut of fighting brawler Tekken has finally made it's way to PC with the release of Tekken 7. As tensions between martial artist Heihachi Mishima and his son, Kazuya heat up in an ultimate showdown to see who the best fighter actually is. Tekken 7 features a number of modes, including being able to take on Bowling (with the Season Pass / DLC) and more traditional modes like Arcade and Story Mode - which will see you play as various characters from the Tekken franchise as you uncover secrets in the saga. All of this backed up with gratifying martial art moves, and a fluid system that allows even novices a way to pull off some satisfying combos makes this one of the best fighters this year on PC.
