Gothic 1 Remake - Developers talk about the revised demo in new video
After the demo release of Nyra's Prologue, Alkimia Interactive has adjusted a few things. In the new video they explain what exactly has changed.
The playable demo of the upcoming Gothic 1 Remake has been online for a while now and the feedback from the community was not long in coming. The general atmosphere in the new Gothic was praised, especially the visuals were quite harmonious. However, the combat system and the somewhat stiff animations were less well received.
In the new video, the developers talk about what exactly they have changed for the Gothic 1 remake, how the original feedback was received and what might be incorporated into the game.
What has changed
Among other things, the character movements have been revised with the May 9th update. The animations are now faster and the combat gameplay has been slightly adjusted. There are also new languages in the demo: Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian and Romanian have been added.
Apart from what can be seen in the video, many technical and content-related details have also been adjusted. These include stability improvements, fixed UI scaling issues, new subtitles, better battle music and more comfort functions. For example, the automatic closing of chests after “Take All”, lock-on buttons for mouse-keyboard and more legible icons for mouse scroll actions. Balancing details such as goblin resistances and bow damage have also been adjusted. You can see all the changes here in the Changelog.
Demo remains available - more changes planned
The adjusted demo version has been available on Steam since May 9. In the video, the team also makes it clear that this was not the last feedback update. Further improvements are to follow before the actual release, which remains undated.
