GTA Online: Doomsday Now playable - loads of new content

The new heist scenario in GTA Online extends over three acts: for the Doomsday Heist all criminals from the underworld of Los Santos now come together. An update everyone has been waiting for.

PC Gamer gets into the thick of it, and lets you know just how much all of these activities cost in-game, spoiler - It's a lot. With the Doomsday Heist, Rockstar invites you to participate in the biggest online adventure in GTA Online so far. Billionaire entrepreneur Avon Hertz has gathered information, that evil forces are collaborating with one thing in mind, an all-destroying war. Fortunately, Lester Crest is on hand to help. In three lavishly staged coop missions, you confront the threat to Los Santos. Teamwork is important. But also the support of Avon Hertz, who will equip you for your mission with vital technology.

You really can not complain that Rockstar would neglect GTA 5. At regular intervals, usually every two weeks, the developer gives out free, new content to the esteemed GTA Online. But the call for a new Heist has become louder and louder. After all, there have been no new raiding missions for years. Bring your friends together, because now the time has come for a new heist!

Doomsday Heist covers three acts, it's looks rather complex and even the entry requirements demand a lot from you. A member of your motorcycle club or organization must have an IAA base below southern San Andreas to open access to the planning space for all upcoming doomsday Heist missions. Such a facility, you can buy like a normal property. But you will have to reach deep into your pockets to finance such a facility. Once you've secured the base, you prepare meticulously for every mission there. Up to four players can team up to tackle the new Heist missions.

In the three acts that tell a self-contained story, the Doomsday Heist contains freemode prep missions, tactical setup operations, and experimental weapons and vehicles. Completing an act gains you great reward, and according to Rockstar, the rewards are so great that you can generously distribute them among your teammates without feeling hard done by. MC Presidents can recruit additional club members to achieve their goals increasing the number of heist players to a maximum of eight. Prep missions take place in free play mode. This means other players can mess up the ride for you. Luckily, Rockstar has thrown out the respawn limit for these Heist missions. Because we all know how absolutely ** annoying ** other players in GTA Online can be.

In this case, bigger is better

If you're tasked with preventing the end of the world, you better have the world's best technology, stacked into your hangars and backpacks. These include Mk II enhancements for pump action shotguns, precision rifles, the bullpup rifle and more. Get the new equipment via the mobile command center or in the Avenger's weapons workshop.

You need a bigger caliber? To eradicate entire armies with just a few shots, the Khanjali tank and the Mammoth Thruster are ideal. That's not enough you say? In that case, call on your new base of task forces or take a huge orbital cannon with precision shot anywhere on the map. However, the thing loads so slowly that the supercannon should be used wisely.

The real exciment here personally, is the Deluxo sports cars, which draws heavily on the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Retract the wheels and off you go! A Deluxo has a hover mode that even carries you over water. Also on show here is The Avenger, a flying, gun-equipped fortress that even has a crime lab on board. In your base you park the monster and equip it with weapon upgrades.

Elite missions for the hard core

The new Heist missions are already difficult enough to master. But that's not all: The final missions include Mastermind challenges. According to Rockstar, only real pros have a chance to complete the elite missions successfully. Access is available to teams of two, three or four players and are rewarded with "substantial payouts". New achievements and trophies are also available. You can see that in the picture.
