Into the Unjust, the new patch for Helldivers 2
For Arrowhead's co-op TPS, it's a descent into the depths, bugs (literally and figuratively), but innovations that leave no one indifferent.
Where were we? Oh yes, the galaxy is suffocating under the growing Shadow of the Gloom, and the Terminids are becoming increasingly aggressive. Helldivers are now sent to ‘Hive Worlds’: infested labyrinthine underground areas, with new objectives and dangers on every expedition.
The time for old, automatic strategies is over: here, improvisation and true cooperation take over. Yes, we're going to avoid pulling the pin on a grenade in a tunnel just for fun. Even if it's fun to try on your mates. The first 7,500 times.
At the heart of the update are these huge, randomly generated caves, full of boosted Terminids and formidable new species (Rupture Spewer, Dragonroach, etc.). Some Stratagems no longer work underground, lighting becomes crucial, and destructible walls add an extra layer of tension and surprise to each run. Two new missions are included: eradicate the Spore Lung responsible for the Gloom, or operate a mobile oil extractor in the heart of the chaos.
This new part of the game comes with tweaks, various rebalancing, and (unfortunately) a barrage of new crashes and performance bugs that the studio is already working hard to fix with hotfixes. To access the full patch notes, click HERE.
