Medieval RPG Kinstrife: New Trailer Showcases Gameplay from the Physics-Based Role-Playing Game

Hooded Horse has released a new trailer for Kinstrife—the medieval RPG that sends you into the turbulent Germany of the 13th century as a wandering knight.

Kinstrife is a non-linear open-world RPG with simulation elements, developed by Finitude. In Kinstrife, you play as a knight making your way through castles, villages, monasteries, and forests during the chaotic era of the Great Interregnum—gaining fame and fortune along the way, but also encountering robber barons. The historical setting offers more than just a backdrop: while rival noble houses fight for the imperial throne, lawlessness and tyranny reign—and that’s exactly where you’ll find your freedom to act. Kinstrife comes with a unique feature.

Physics-based sword combat at its core

What sets Kinstrife apart from other medieval RPGs is its physics-simulated combat system. Weapons don’t simply clip through opponents here, but strike with real force: characters lose their balance and fall, and mounted attacks actually knock enemies to the ground. Every attack, every feint, and every parry creates organic situations. The game rewards experimentation and different playstyles alike.

Once you’ve mastered the combat mechanics, you’ll build your knight from the ground up in Kinstrife: skills, traits, and equipment adapt to your playstyle. On your way to the top, you’ll fight in battles, duels, and sieges, take part in tournaments, and build a loyal following.
