Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls - Opening Movie: An Anime Spectacle Ahead of Release

Big Eyes, Powerful Heroes: Sony and Arc System Works have released the official opening movie for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The short film is sure to delight anime fans in particular.

Fighting Game DNA with Anime Influence

The opening cinematic for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls combines the action of classic fighting game intros with the look of early 2000s anime openings, and thus likely strikes exactly the right chord that Tōkon has been aiming for from the start. The sequence was produced by the Japanese animation studio Sanzigen and directed by Daisuke Suzuki. The whole thing is accompanied by the theme song “Stronger as One,” sung by Keiko Terada (SHOW-YA) and mayu (NEMOPHILA), with lyrics by Kanata Okajima and composition and arrangement by MEG (MEGMETAL).

For anyone who isn’t yet familiar with this 4v4 tag-team fighter: Take on the role of your favorite Marvel hero, or villain, and face off against the competition in fast-paced duels with a team of four fighters. The PC release is scheduled for August 6.
