Monster Hunter Wilds: Preload, Launch Times, 2nd Open Beta and Benchmark info
A new hunt looms as Monster Hunter Wilds launches on February 28th. Can't wait until then? You can take part in the 2nd Open Beta this weekend. Plus, the game launch times are revealed and the Benchmark is live now!
As mentioned previously, Monster Hunter fans will be able to take part in the 2nd Beta this weekend from February 7th at 3am GMT until February 10th (same time), and again from February 14th to February 17th (same times as the first weekend. This will give eager hunters a chance to give the gameplay a shot. Highlights for this new test include:
Flagship Monster Arkveld
Flagship monster Arkveld and returning monster Gypceros are joining players in the wilds for OBT2! After completing the quest Doshaguma Hunt, talk to Alma at the Base Camp to unlock optional quests for Arkveld and Gypceros. After completing the Arkveld optional quest, Arkveld will begin to appear in locales very infrequently.
Training Area
An area exclusively for solo play where you can practice using all the different weapons on offer. In addition, you will automatically revive if you faint, and the amount of consumable items you hold will not decrease.
Private Lobbies
You can create private lobbies that are only available to join via a lobby ID search. Private lobbies allow for a maximum of 16 players.
Online Single Player
A mode where players can explore the wilds by themselves without joining a lobby. The pause feature is also available in the Start Menu. You can use an SOS Flare to temporarily play in a multiplayer session.
Plus, all the previous Open Beta content that was featured: Character Creation, Story Trial and the Doshaguma Hunt.
According to Capcom, data from the first Open Beta that was live a few months ago will carry over, this means that any character you've customised will still be available to you when you try the second Open Beta. For anyone who takes part in the Open Beta 2 they'll unlock the following for use in the full game when it launches:
- Open Beta Test Pendant
- OBT2 Bonus Item Pack — Raw Meat x10, Shock Trap x3, Pitfall Trap x3, Tranq Bomb x10, Large Barrel, Bomb x3, Armor Sphere x5, Flash Pod x10, Large Dung Pod x10
Monster Hunter Wilds Preload and Launch Times revealed
In addition to the Open Beta Test 2 taking place this weekend, Capcom have also revealed when the full game launches as we're a few weeks out from the February 28th release.
- Preload Time: February 25th at 9pm PT / February 26th at 5am GMT / 6am CET
- Launch Time: February 27th at 9pm PT / February 28th at 5am GMT / 6am CET
As well as the launch times, Capcom have launched a Benchmark Tool for Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam to test their hardware out and see how it handles.
