Dylan Faden takes the reins: Control Resonant announced at The Game Awards 2025

Control Resonant made a big splash at the 2025 Game Awards, immediately setting the stage: a true sequel to Control, but reimagined as a large-scale action RPG, scheduled for release next year.

Remedy returns to its paranormal office universe in a Manhattan turned upside down by the supernatural, described as a “distorted playground.” .

The first major change is that you no longer play Jesse Faden, but her brother Dylan, a former FBC subject with an unstable personality. Freed from a new crisis, he becomes the linchpin of a story that also extends the events of Alan Wake 2's post-launch content. The Remedy Connected Universe is taking shape.

In terms of gameplay, Control Resonant is Remedy's first true action RPG: more direct combat, an emphasis on melee with a mutant weapon called the Aberrant, combined with Dylan's paranormal powers. The studio promises a richer progression system and a semi-open Manhattan serving as an evolving hub rather than a simple narrative corridor.
