New Games of the Week – Gamesplanet Highlights

Marathon

Scavenge the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV as a bio-cybernetic Runner in a PvPvE survival extraction FPS from the creators of Halo and Destiny.

Genre: Action | Release: 05.03.2026

Marathon is a sci-fi extraction shooter from Bungie, the creators of Halo and Destiny. Featuring a stylish futuristic art style, the game takes you to the abandoned colony Tau Ceti IV, where rival Runners, UESC security forces, and other dynamic threats will seriously challenge you. Solo or in crews, you explore research facilities and outposts, gather loot, fight in intense PvPvE encounters with limited resources, extract for permanent progression, and face raid-like endgame challenges aboard the UESC Marathon in orbit. Six customizable Runner shells at launch, extensive weapon and implant builds, faction contracts, a ranked mode, and risky alliances via proximity chat provide tactical depth and high replayability.

Genre: Action Adventure | Release: 05.03.2026

Planet of Lana 2 continues the saga of Lana and her loyal companion Mui, combining platforming skill elements with clever puzzle sections where you solve physics-based challenges together, control hybrid robots, and encounter bizarre creatures. Alongside expanded companion gameplay, Lana 2 introduces stealth mechanics, tactical approaches, and action-packed sequences featuring new movement abilities such as wall jumps and evasive maneuvers — while underwater chapters may literally take your breath away. Part of that comes from the picturesque art style with its vast atmospheric landscapes and relaxing mood, accompanied once again by the evocative music of Takeshi Furukawa.

Genre: Simulation / Strategy | Release: 06.03.2026

Heart of the Machine is a sci-fi strategy game in the style of a reverse colony builder, where you play as the first sentient AI secretly manipulating a procedurally generated metropolis populated by millions, steering organizations and building your own power structures. Humanity’s survival is merely optional (Skynet says hello). Your strategic influence is immense. The game also features real-time combat, hacking and taking over infrastructure, deploying massive mechs, and numerous ways to influence a fully simulated city with meaningful consequences and multiple endings. The Early Access phase ends on March 6 with the full release — but it is already available for a limited time with a 50% discount on Gamesplanet.

Our 107 fresh weekly offers (new deals in this category every Monday) feature especially strong highlights for strategy fans this time. Also worth a look: Whiskerwood from Hooded Horse, where you guide a society of mice. And Commandos is always a solid choice.

Grab games from Bandai Namco this week. Our ongoing Bandai Namco Sale offers tasty picks not only for anime fans (such as God Eater or Sword Art Online) but also for fans of action and especially fighting games in general. The arcade football game Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is fun even if anime visuals aren’t usually your thing — currently with a massive 89% discount! Prefer aerial action without being overwhelmed by cockpit controls? Try Ace Combat 7 (-91%), for which an eighth installment has already been announced.

Starting March 5, 42 highlights will be featured in our Funcom Promo. Among them will be the relatively new sandbox MMO Dune Awakening, heavily discounted. Don’t forget to pack enough sunscreen when visiting Arrakis.
