Genre: Strategy | Release: April 28, 2026
The next major expansion for Victoria 3 is all about seafaring and Japan. With Victoria 3: The Great Wave, Paradox’s grand strategy heavyweight gains a full-fledged naval system thanks to a major update. Ships are now individual objects that you can build and lose in battle—a naval administration manages the crew, and a comprehensive ship designer allows you to configure the armor, armament, propulsion, and supply capacity of each ship type through tech levels. The Great Wave focuses on Japan: Steer the country through the social and political turmoil of the late Edo period and transform the embattled shogunate into a modern great power. New historical characters, Japanese-inspired tabletop assets, a custom UI skin, and 27 minutes of new music fitting the Edo/Meiji era round out the expansion with atmosphere. Available on Gamesplanet as a Steam key.

Genre: Action / Co-op | Release: April 28, 2026 (Early Access)
Far Far West is a wild mix of Western, supernatural, and sci-fi: You play robot cowboys who take on dangerous bounty contracts for the sheriff. The Wild West, but like you’ve never seen it before: Alongside dusty saloons and endless deserts, you’ll encounter haunted mines, undead skeletons, and face deadly storms—all while keeping an eye on the giant ghost train. What makes it special: You can seamlessly switch between firearms and spells, customize your gear, and combine spells to take down even powerful boss enemies. Play solo or with up to three friends in co-op. The game comes from the French indie studio Evil Raptor, previously best known for the 3D platformer Pumpkin Jack, which received very positive reviews on Steam. Even before its early access launch on Steam, Far Far West has already garnered more than 580,000 wishlist entries and overwhelmingly positive demo reviews.

Genre: Strategy | Release: April 30, 2026 (Early Access)
The wait is over—here’s this week’s release: After more than ten years without a new game in the series, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is launching in Early Access. The official prequel to the legendary series takes you to the mysterious continent of Jadame—a setting that has only been mentioned in passing in the main series and can now be fully explored for the first time. Choose from six unique factions, including the armored Knights of the Temple, the elemental spirits of the Grove, the fire-breathing dragons of the Dungeon, and the undead legions of the Necropolis, and lead your armies into turn-based tactical battles on hex-based grids. New additions include faction-specific abilities, revamped systems for learning skills and spells, and artifact sets that grant bonuses when fully equipped. At the start of Early Access, a campaign (Act 1), single-player maps, a random map editor, hotseat mode, and multiplayer will be available. HOMM Olden Era is modeled after the highly popular third installment of the series, and expectations are correspondingly high. Early Let’s Plays are turning heads: it appears the series is returning to its former glory.
