Welcome to our third festive weekend as part of our exciting Advent Weekend Promo Page, looking for that perfect gift for Christmas? Worried about being overwhelmed by the huge list of games on sale we've got? Let's break it down a little with this little guide featuring a few highlights from my own personal sack.
Come with us this weekend as we hunt Dragon Balls, take on Aliens as the President, Wield Lightsabers and Hide under cardboard boxes while enemies sneak past! So get ready to chow down on a mince pie and let's go deal hunting!
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Highly recommend Dragon Ball Xenoverse, not only is it the first proper game to come to PC, the port is great and it lets you create your own character in a semi MMO style world. There is so much to do, Story missions, Parallel Quests, Online/Offline Battles. The game can become repetitive after a while, but you can play how you want.
You start by picking a race from either Saiyan, Namekian, Frieza Race (yes it's called that), Human or Majin, then you're thrown into the story which revolves around a mysterious pair distorting the timelines to change history and it's your job to put history right. If you got tired of the same old story mode in Dragon Ball games then this is a welcome change as it's you in the game fighting alongside Goku, Piccolo and the rest.
Story mode should take around 15-20 hours depending on your playstyle, but you also have the options to do Parallel Quests which are objective based missions set on a map (that may take you to different areas). I managed to sink in about 63 hours in total, though I can see others getting more/less time depending how much you enjoy doing the PQ's.
Game has a whole heap of characters too, you can train under Masters like Cell, Goku, Android 18, Piccolo and even Mr. Satan (or Hercule for the modern fans). This is a dream to play, I hope one day they manage to do a sequel but for now this is probably the best Dragon Ball game on PC. As for DLC, you might find the price is too high to justify the content and I don't think it's really worth it. If you get the Bundle it's probably the cheapest way to get the DLC since some of it is less than an hour long and most of it is characters/items/moves.
In short, this is a great game for Dragon Ball fans and you can get the game for 75% off. We also has the Dragon Ball Xenoverse Bundle which contains both the base game and season pass for 75% off (best value)!
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Without a doubt the best Star Wars game ever created (at least to me). This is set 4000 years before the Star Wars movies and is based in a time when the galaxy had plenty of Sith and Jedi doing battle. One of BioWare's early RPG's that set the foundations for many of their later classics such as Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire and Mass Effect. You start off the game waking up in a ship that's under attack with memory loss having no idea who you are, as the game progresses you'll find the answer to those sleepless nights and discover some new truths.
Gameplay wise you have a whole heap of things to do from racing swoop bikes to playing Pazaak. Companions are a big part of the game, you can have a party of up to 2 which you can switch to in combat should you require their expertise and equip them with armour/weapons just like you would yourself. Dialogue may give you an option to pick from a number of choices, these choices end up being your moral compass in how you interact with people. Perhaps you are the person that likes to rule everyone and wants to cause as much harm as possible, you can do just that but be prepared for the outcomes. The story is a great tale and something I feel may have even been great as a movie in the Star Wars universe, plenty of places to visit and things you wouldn't expect make this my favourite Star Wars (and RPG) of all time.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords
Like Knights of the Old Republic before it, KOTOR 2 starts you off aboard a ship with another case of memory loss and you take control of a Droid which has to repair the ship so it can dock with a station to heal you. Many of things that made KOTOR a great game are still present in this, as well as new additions such as new Lightsaber crystals with better effects such as recovering force powers you use quicker. Speaking of Force Powers the game improves on the original by adding 30 new ones to play with such as Force Enlightenment, Force Suppression, Force Light and more. Also new are prestige classes, a sub class based on being a Jedi/Sith depending on your choice these improve powers and stats.
When the game was released the story had some missing features and has a disappointing ending cut short due to the rushed launch, the community has taken it upon itself to fix most of the bugs/missing content and I would highly suggest downloading The Restored Content Mod. Lastly the game had a big update a few months back which improved the game by adding support for modern resolutions, gamepad support, achievements and more! A great title and one of my top Star Wars games, I still prefer the original but this is just as good (if not better in some places).

DiRT Showdown
Start your engines for a high octane racer filled with plenty of arcade and dirt tracks to keep you making sandcastles all year long. DiRT Showdown is unlike previous games in the series as it focuses more on the arena style . You do have races like any other DiRT title but they are more self contained and the main focus this time relies on the quirky arena style game modes such as Demolition Derby, which is the highly addictive when you get into a ring with other cars to fight for supremacy!
The game sees you start a "Tour" career which sees you build your way from the bottom in a bid to become the ultimate racing champion and as you progress you'll be able to upgrade your car to be even better. If you have never played a DiRT game before this would be an ideal entry into the series as it doesn't focus too much on Rally racing but instead gives an arcade experience that anyone can enjoy - much like a Mario Kart in a way, that's not to say the game doesn't also feature racing but it's more stripped back.
DiRT Showdown is on sale for 80% off this weekend!
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
The game that started it all, before LEGO Star Wars all we had were games like LEGO Island and LEGO Racers but along came this out of basically nowhere. This set the foundations for all LEGO recent LEGO titles, it's gameplay and humour were unique and set TT Games path for the future. All 6 Star Wars movies are included in this package, you have around 62 levels in total (6 per film, 20 bounty hunter levels and 6 bonus levels), a vast array of characters and the ability to create Darth Vader with Princess Leia's bikini body. LEGO Star Wars - The Complete Saga to me will always be the title that started it all and it's got so many good moments in it that it still remains in my top 5 LEGO games to this day. It's not aged great though, graphically it's dated but gameplay still holds up - despite a couple issues that got fixed in later LEGO titles, but it's a great way to experience the Star Wars experience and a fantastic way to get keep the entire family entertained.

Saints Row IV
The Saints are back, causing more chaos and doing more ridiculous things. After one of the best videogame intro sequences I have ever played, you become the President of the United States. Not long after you settle into the role alien forces attack the white house and take hostages, it's up to you to stop their leader Zinyak from destroying the world. Taking place 5 years after the events of Saints Row: The Third, instead of playing in the real world most of the time you play in a simulated Steelport where you eventually get super powers such as super jump, telekinesis, super sprint, blast or more. Each of these powers can be upgraded to do more or even add a new power type to the mix, for example you can get a freeze blast that let's you freeze enemies and then combine with a gun to crush them. While most of the game relies on powers you are given an impressive selection of guns (just like the previous) which consists of some new weapons like the Dubstep gun that forces everyone (and vehicles) to start dancing or the new Abduction gun which does just what it say.
Even though most of the game map is borrowed from Saints Row: The Third there is plenty new to the game that it doesn't matter, there is plenty of over the top humour and enjoyable side quests that you can easily forget it shares the same map. DLC is a mixed bag, some are great but there are some disappointing ones - my personal favourite is the Christmas DLC and considering the time of year this is something worth playing for Christmas (whether or not you have finished the game).

Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Think of Ground Zeroes as a starter to the main course, set before the events of Phantom Pain you play Snake (or Big Boss depending on your preference) as you try to infiltrate and rescue hostages from Camp Omega. The game features a small open world with various ways to approach your mission including bonus objectives that are completely optional, as soon as you finish the main mission you are given a couple side missions which extend the gameplay (but don't really offer much in the way of a story). New to the series is the "reflex mode" which let's you react to an enemy discovering your presence by slowing you down allowing for a more cinematic approach to fights.
Since the game is only a small slice of what Phantom Pain delivers it's hard to recommend it on it's own unless you're going to be picking up both games in the series in which case it's a great start to the story. It took me about 3 hours to finish the game which may not be to everyone's enjoyment, but what it lacks in length it delivers a great opening act.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is in my mind one of the best games of 2015, it has a great cast of characters, an interesting story and plenty of things to keep your interested for a long time. If Ground Zeroes was too short and linear then Phantom Pain sets that right by giving you a huge open world Afghanistan (and later Africa) to explore with plenty of side activities to keep you on your toes, you'll even get to manage your own base and soldiers with micro management.
As the game progresses you'll eventually unlock more options and more equipment in how to approach a mission, you can even recruit buddies to help you on missions such as D-Dog who will sniff out enemies or attack them depending on the role assigned to him. Even if you might prefer to do things Stealthy the game does give you the option to treat it like an action game but it's more fun trying to sneak your way around and honestly it's how a Metal Gear game should be. Missions may vary and you might find yourself triggering new ones by playing others, each one can be dealt with in an almost random order but there are certain ones that need to be played before unlocking others. Not really a massive thing but there are some cassette tapes in the world you can hunt out to play on your iDroid device (or use as helicopter landing music) such as Europe - The Final Countdown, A-ha - Take on Me, Kim Wilde - Kids in America and many others, all of which make the game enjoyable.
It's one of the biggest open world games of last year and while it might not be as long as Witcher 3 you'll still end up playing this for a long time, I haven't even managed to finish this despite spending over 50 hours (it might even more like 70 or higher I lost count). Then you have the multiplayer which I have not yet tried but get this for the single player as it's one of the best games of this year period. Highly recommend this for any Stealth action fan out there, even has Kiefer Sutherland doing the voice of Snake this time and while some didn't like the change I found he does a great job in the role.
Get Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience for a massive 40% off this weekend! Alternatively you could pick up the titles in the franchise separately for up to 80% off!
