W40K: Inquisitor - Martyr: Alpha 2.0 update, features Better Performance, Rebalanced Skills and more

Neocore Games bringing even more depth to their upcoming action RPG based in the Warhammer universe with the release of the 2.0 update for W40K: Inquisitor - Martyr.

When it was first announced all the way back in July 2015, W40K: Inquisitor - Martyr developer Neocore Games were set to deliver an action RPG in the W40k universe that was close to what had been achieved with the Dawn of War series and now 2 years later they have released their Alpha 2.0 update as the dream becomes a reality with improvements such as better performance, class balance, additions to the UI and much more.

As developers Neocore Games continue updating their action top down shooter based in the Warhammer 40k universe, it's reached the point where the base gameplay is pretty much almost complete and the rest of the focus will be to ensure new content, features and performance are tackled. Over time the Alpha has grown in scale and with feedback from the community, they have managed to deliver more features with every update.

Alpha 2.0 Features:

  • Better performance
  • The introduction of the Tier system with the first Tier end content
  • Enhanced and more useful GUI panels
  • Rebalanced missions and monsters
  • Rebalanced skills for both current classes
  • Class-specific perks and passive skills for the Assassin Inquisitor
  • Revised render pipeline, improved lightning, more props, improved graphics quality
  • More level scripts on missions
  • New Investigation modules
  • Usable mixed weapon sets
  • New two-handed weapons for the Assassin Inquisitor

This is just a small number of features arriving with Alpha 2.0. You can take a look at the full changelog over on the official community hub.

Fans looking to get involved with the current Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr are able to pre-order it via their official site to gain access with packages ranging from reasonable $40 to a staggering $1000. Though Neocore games advises caution when signing up:

"Before purchasing the game during The Founding period, please note that Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is currently an alpha build with many of its features currently under development, some of which will only be available in the final release. Read the FAQ carefully before fully committing to acquiring the game."

This is nothing new and as many developers push Early Access versions or Demos, it can often lead to buggy/unfinished games that should have more time spent polishing before releasing - though some people like seeing a rough diamond before it's polished into a sparkling gem.

The full version of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is scheduled for release later this year, as yet there is no final date and as Alpha testing continues it may be pushed back to allow further improvements to the game.
