505 Games presents gameplay footage from the upcoming cyberpunk life sim Nivalis and takes you on a tour through a cyberpunk metropolis.

It’s not Cyberpunk 2077, because Nivalis from developer ION Lands and publisher 505 Games takes a very different approach to the cyberpunk setting. This applies not only to the characters and gameplay mechanics, but also to the visual presentation. With a gameplay video eagerly awaited by the community, the publisher now shows some early scenes from the neon-soaked Nivalis, which is set to release later this year.

The trailer provides a compact introduction without revealing too much of the story, focusing mainly on visual impressions. The developers emphasize that not everything is final yet — especially the voice work is still being refined.

In Nivalis, you start at the very bottom: perhaps running a small food stall or a shop for specialty goods. Step by step, you work your way up to owning bars, restaurants, or even your own nightclub. The goal is to make a name for yourself in the city’s nightlife — despite rival gangs, overpowering corporations, and a metropolis built on shaky foundations. Action like in 2077? Not here. Nivalis takes a more relaxed approach.

Alongside building your business, you can expect a life simulation featuring a day-night cycle and dynamic weather. You can grow your own ingredients, travel by boat through canals, go fishing, decorate your apartment, and build relationships with the city’s residents. Perhaps something more than friendship might develop. The Sims goes cyberpunk. Sort of.
