Onimusha: Way of the Sword gets an expanded Demo ahead of the release!
Miyamoto Musashi gets ready to slice more foes with a brand new extended demo for Onimusha - Way of the Sword, ahead of the official release on September 4th. See what's new and take part to unlock a bonus for the full game.
Well this was quite a surprise, but a welcome one. During Gamescom's Opening Night Live 2026, Capcom revealed that the current demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on all platforms would be expanded with new content ahead of the full release next week on September 4th. If you've already completed the previous demo you can simply continue with your previous save. Fight in the new Oni Refuge area, and battle your way through the Genma hordes to face off against the fearsome boss that awaits at the demo's end, Daidara. The demo itself differs in some regards from the full game, and progress cannot be carried over - but you will be able to unlock a bonus charm (more on that below) by copying your save data.

For those who complete the demo, you'll be able to import your save data into the full game and will be able to claim a Kubi Akari charm that grants special effects when equipped!
Equipping charms will apply beneficial effects to Miyamoto Musashi.
The charm can be claimed in-game via the Spirit Mirror.
Charms can be changed from the Charms section of the Equipment screen accessible from the Main Menu.
Spirit Mirrors and the Charms section of the Equipment screen will become unlocked separately as the game progresses.
