HELP - How to find your Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pre-order Bonus and Extras
Pre-ordered the epic role-playing game Pathfinder: Kingmaker at Gamesplanet and need some help locating your pre-order bonuses? We've put together a handy guide to assist you with finding all the bonuses and various extras that come with the editions of the game. If you pre-ordered you'll get 3 pre-order bonus items (Expert's Hat, Mesmerizing Necklace and Owlcat Pet) in the game. The Noble Edition also includes two character portraits, a digital artbook and the official soundtrack. You'll get even more with the Royal Edition or Imperial Edition which both contain: a Module for the board game (Digital), a digital HD map of the Stolen lands and the Red Panda pet. The Imperial Edition also includes the Season Pass for the game, giving you more post-launch content after release.
UPDATE: Owlcat has added the missing content to the game with the Soundtrack being added to the game folders.
NOTE: Currently there are some extra bonuses missing, such as the digital soundtrack. Hopefully Owlcat games will rectify this soon but for now there's still a variety of bonuses available.
How to find your pre-order extras
Pre-orderers have access to three bonus items in the game: The Owlcat Pet ("Headchomper" or "Head Maul"), Expert's Hat ("Expert's Hat") and Mesmerizing Necklace ("Biting Necklace"). You'll have to spend a few hours to get to the location of the bonuses from character creation so be patient!
- Complete the entry missions (attack on the property, travel on the main map, and attack Oleg's trading posts). Then settle for a break at Oleg's trading posts.
- In your accommodation you will discover a big chest on the left part of the picture. This contains all three pre-order extras.
- Take the Expert's Hat, the Mesmerizing Necklace and Owlcat Pet.
- The items are to be used like ordinary items. For example, you put the pet in a belt slot and can summon the owl over and over again. It is recommended to wear the necklace on a magic class user.
Locating Edition Extras
Additional character portraits:
The Noble, Royal and Imperial editions of Pathfinder: Kingmaker each contain two additional character portraits that you select when creating your main character. The Warrior of Cheliax and a Elf Wizard are the two bonus characters. Both of these will be visible at the start. You can use the pictures below to figure out which ones are the bonus portraits.
Blessing Seal, Resistance Belt and Red Panda:
Also in the Noble, Royal and Imperial Editions are the blessing seal ("blessed signet") and the resistance belt (initially unidentified "Belt"). Both items can be found in the chest in Oleg's Trading Post, as described above for the Pre-Order Extras. The magic belt must first be identified by a qualified person.
Meanwhile the Royal and Imperial editions of Pathfinder: Kingmaker contain the Red Panda Pet ("Ember"). The beautiful animal, which gives you a +1 morale bonus on saving throws. He can also be found within the chest Oleg's Trading Post and equipped in a belt slot. You can summon both the Red Panda Pet and Owlcat with the click of a mouse, letting you have your own personal squad of creatures to accompany you on long journeys.
Other Digital Bonuses: Map of Stolen Countries, Artbook
We're still waiting for the Digital Soundtrack and board game Module to be delivered from Owlcat Games, but you can take a look at the map and artbook right now within the game files.
Right-click on Pathfinder: Kingmaker in your Steam library, then left-click on "Properties" and under the "LOCAL FILES" tab, click on "Browse Local Files ...".
Windows will then open the folder window. Open the sub-directory "DigitalRewards" and you will find not only the Artbook.pdf but also the map of the "Stolen Lands" as a JPG.
UPDATE You can now get access to the Digital Soundtrack for the game, which features 60 high quality FLAC and 60 MP3 files. These can also be found in the "DigitalRewards" folder in the downloaded ZIP file.
