Planet of Lana 2 is out – Lana and Mui return: New trailers for the game

Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf is now available. The beautiful puzzle platformer from Wishfully Studios celebrates its release with an emotional launch trailer.

Two years after the events of the first installment, you return to the planet Novo in Planet of Lana 2. A world that has changed — and with it, the game itself has evolved as well. New technologies bring progress, but also greed and division among the planet’s tribes. Right in the middle of it all: an older, more agile Lana and her loyal companion Mui, who must fight not only for their survival but for the soul of their homeland. Along the way, a gripping sci-fi story full of mysteries awaits — including revelations about Mui’s mysterious past.

Lana, Mui, and a world in transition

Planet of Lana 2 has grown in every way. The sequel roughly doubles the scope of its predecessor and sends you through snow-covered mountain peaks, dark deep-sea environments, and forgotten ruins. Lana has expanded her abilities, mastering wall runs and fluid traversal moves, giving the gameplay a noticeably more agile feel, while Mui shines with new abilities — including an underwater protective bubble for joint deep-sea exploration. The puzzles still rely on teamwork and logical thinking: observation, timing, and cooperation are your key tools throughout the game. There are still no traditional spoken dialogues with understandable text. Instead, the story and emotions are conveyed through the world itself, supported by the orchestral score of Takeshi Furukawa. A hand-painted puzzle adventure that critics are already celebrating again: Polygon calls it the best game of 2026 so far, GamingBible awards it 9/10, and IGN gives it a solid 8 out of 10.

If you want to learn more about the player experience, game design, and puzzles, you should check out another video from publisher Thunderful. In it, game designers Dan and Christian discuss how the gameplay and puzzle mechanics were redesigned for the sequel.
