Pragmata is back - First sign of life comes with a new gameplay trailer
Capcom has released a new trailer for Pragmata at the latest PlayStation State of Play, sending a sign of life to the game after a long period of radio silence. Originally announced for 2022, the release has been postponed several times. Now a release is planned for 2026.
Pragmata takes you to a moon station somewhere in the future. With you: an astronaut named Hugh and the android girl Diana. The two of them are somehow trying to get back to Earth - but a few things are getting in the way.
Gameplay highlights
In the new trailer, Pragmata shows real gameplay for the first time and clearly focuses on teamwork. You can see not only the astronaut Hugh, but also the android Diana. Whilst Hugh takes care of the physical battles, Diana provides support with hacking skills, distracts enemies or manipulates the environment. This creates an interesting interplay of direct action and tactical approach that varies from scene to scene.
The visual style is also striking: the moon station looks both expansive and oppressive, with lots of details and a gloomy mood. The isolation of the setting runs through the production. This fits in perfectly with the story and creates the right atmosphere.
Whether the footage shown is truly representative of the final game remains to be seen - but it gives a first impression of what Pragmata could feel like: a mixture of exploration and action in a dark Sci-Fi scenario.
