An extensive documentary by Noclip celebrates a nostalgic look back at the history of the early Monkey Island adventures and tells how the new instalment, Return to Monkey Island, came about.

Interesting not only for retro gamers: The Noclip documentary channel has dedicated itself in detail to the Monkey Island series. The 95-minute video sheds light on the development of the first Monkey Island and the subsequent instalments, but mainly on the latest part, Return to Monkey Island. The responsible developers have their say and well-known veterans such as Ron Gilbert also talk from the pirate box. Return to Monkey Island, published by Devolver Digital in 2022, revisits the life story of pirate Guybrush Threepwood and spins it out in an entertaining way.
