How to find the Preorder Bonus Items and unlock ASTRA Skins in Returnal (PC)

Have you already died many times in Returnal, but still no sign of the pre-order items? We show you what to look out for when searching. We also explain how to unlock the ASTRA bonus skins via the PlayStation Network.

Nothing is given to you in the hard-hitting roguelike shooter Returnal. Apart from death. But you might not have to die that often if you take advantage of the (powerful) pre-order items early on. The game doesn't give them to you on a silver platter - you'll find them in the course of the game, but earlier than usual.

Find weapons like the Hollowseeker early in Returnal

First, you should complete the tutorial area of Returnal, wake up after dying to your crashed spaceship and tackle the next "Cycle". Since the areas are generated procedurally, i.e. more or less randomly, on each run, there is no one way to the pre-order items. The gallery shows you step by step how to find the powerful Hollowseeker weapon, for example.

Preorder items appear in different places in different orders earlier than usual, giving you an advantage early in the game. Note, however, that the finds are randomly generated and you will have to collect the items repeatedly on each new playthrough.

How to unlock the ASTRA Prototype and ASTRA Tactical Skins

To unlock the two beautiful bonus skins in Returnal, ASTRA Prototype Suit and ASTRA Tactical Suit, you must link your Steam account to your PlayStation Network account. If you do not yet have an account on the PlayStation Network, you must first create a new one. The link can be made from within the game, either by opening a browser window or by scanning a QR code that Returnal displays.

Open the login procedure in the main menu of Returnal (press the left analogue stick)

Then either scan the QR code with your smartphone or choose the login via the browser (press Y).

Log in with your Playstation Network login details in the browser window.

If you have previously activated the two-step verification, you must enter the code from your authentication app here.

Did everything work? Back in the game, this screen will inform you that the bonus skins have been unlocked

Start a new cycle in the game and you will find the skins in the spaceship in Storage 03.
