Seafarer: The Ship Sim - Early Access Roadmap revealed
When Seafarer: The Ship Sim launches in early access on October 7, you'll start your career at Crescentport Logistics. The company is now presenting itself in a video, and Astragon is also showing the road map for the coming months.
In Seafarer: The Ship Sim from Astragon, you take on the many tasks of a ship captain on the high seas. In addition to classic cargo missions, such as when you start your career at Crescentport Logistics, you can also expect assignments such as firefighting and rescue missions. What makes it special is that the authentically modeled ships are freely accessible for work on board, so in Seafarer you not only take the helm, but also maintain engines, operate cranes, and use fire hoses.
Seafarer with an open game world and realistic wave simulation
The open game world of Seafarer: The Ship Sim is based on northern European coastal landscapes and features ports, cities, and oil rigs, which the Astragon development studio brings to life with dynamic weather, a day-night cycle, and realistic wave simulation. Those who want to experience the campaign can choose story mode with missions and a storyline, while quick play allows for immediate free missions. A central element are the various factions, each with their own areas of responsibility. One of these is Crescentport Logistics, which focuses on cargo and transport missions. There, you start with the tugboat Bernhard or the ferry Herbert and ensure that goods are transported safely from port to port. Astragon introduces your future employer, Crescentport Logistics, here in the trailer.
Roadmap for Early Access: What's next for Seafarer
Bundle up: Seafarer: The Ship Sim will be available to play in Early Access starting October 7. Six ships, including tugboats and cargo ferries, will put your seafaring skills to the test right from the start. One of the first factions available is Crescentport Logistics for cargo missions. Herbert the cargo ferry is looking forward to being sailed by you. Are rescue missions more your thing? Then start with Tide Guard and steer patrol boats like the Rigid and the Density or fireboats like the Archer and Lancer.
Update 1 for Seafarer in Q4 2025
This will keep you busy in Seafarer for many hours. And new content is already in the pipeline at Astragon. The roadmap already includes the first update for Crescentport Logistics for Q4 2025, “The LNG & Bulk Update.” More ships, new mission types for large container ships, and tasks for managing LNG (liquefied natural gas) resources. Bug fixes are also to be expected so soon after the early access launch.
Update 2 for Seafarer in Q1 2026
The second update package for Seafarer: The Ship Sim, dubbed “The Rescue Update,” is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of next year. Tide Guard will then have access to two additional ships. Additional rescue missions, a new port, and further bug fixes and improvements are also planned.
More content in 2026
The developers will not be resting on their laurels in 2026. After the first two major updates, they will continue to work on new ships, online co-op mode, an expansion of the map, and an additional faction is already in the starting blocks.
Seafarer: The Ship Sim is available at a discount on Gamesplanet from the start of early access.
