The Career Update for Seafarer: The Ship Sim introduces a new reputation system, fresh story missions, and more freedom for your adventures on the high seas.

A change of course at astragon: With the new Career Update for the shipping simulation Seafarer: The Ship Sim, the helm is being turned. The previous level and EXP system has been phased out—instead, you’ll now earn reputation at every port you visit. This unlocks new ships, additional ports, and extra opportunities. The developers’ goal: to give you, the captain, more autonomy. You’ll have greater freedom to decide how you earn your money, which trade routes are worthwhile, and when to deploy your ships—all without being tied to fixed mission objectives.

So if you’ve been plowing through missions one after another up until now, you can look forward to a sandbox experience with significantly more freedom of movement. The game world reacts more strongly to your decisions than before. This update adds more depth to building your own shipping company.

Story Conclusion and New Tasks on Board

The three new story missions also bring the story surrounding Teddy to a close and deliver some dramatic moments as well as daring missions on the open sea. Those who prefer to let loose in everyday life on board will also get new toys with this update: On most ships, drones are now available for exploring the surroundings; the bulk carrier gets its own deck-cleaning gameplay; and onboard inspections have also been revamped.
