Sintopia: Release Date Announced – Team17’s Hell Manager Launches on April 16
Good news for anyone who’s always wanted to run hell: According to a new trailer, Sintopia from Team17 and developer Piraknights Games is set to release on April 16, 2026.
With Sintopia, you can expect a quirky mix of building strategy and management simulation, in which you, as the administrator of the underworld, are responsible for re-educating sinners and sending the worthy back into the light. You’ll build punishment facilities, automate hellish production chains, and manage a workforce of underworld employees, affectionately known internally as “Imployees.” Sounds like a perfectly normal office job, just with a stronger smell of sulfur. Another take on the classic Dungeon Keeper formula—but Sintopia seems to be significantly more complex.
Between the Surface World and the Underworld
In addition to expanding your underground infrastructure, in Sintopia you also have influence over the surface world, where the so-called Humus live their lives, farm, build, and search for treasures. With ten different spells—ranging from healing rain to the somewhat more radical “extinction event”—you can intervene there as you please and play God—or the devil. Speaking of variety: In addition to the fully voiced campaign mode (in English and French) with four difficulty levels, Sintopia also features a sandbox mode where you can build your very own dream hell. Leisurely and relaxed or bone-crushingly hard—whatever you prefer.
Anyone who thinks hell runs itself is mistaken: the seven deadly sins appear as individually designed enemies and try to sabotage your empire. To keep the production line running, you must build roads and factories, assign the appropriate punishment for each sin, and keep your workforce happy.
Sintopia will be released on April 16, 2026, and will be available on Gamesplanet by then at the latest.
