The Switch stays cool: Sonic Racing CrossWorlds in the fast lane right after launch

Following the early release for owners of the Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, everyone else can now also get started in SEGA's new racing world. The trade press says: “Yep, you'll like it!”

It's raining 90s ratings – right on Mario's cap! Switch consoles are staying cold these days, because Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds actually has something to counter Mario Kart and is casually driving out of Nintendo's slipstream. The trade press praises the new Sonic racer for its many customization options, wonderfully colorful tracks, numerous characters, and overall gameplay mechanics.

Nintendo has backed the wrong horse with Mario Kart World – the switch to open-world mechanics has clearly not done the game any favors. Sonic Racing Crossworlds, on the other hand, stays on track: classic Grand Prix cup races with a few laps per track. These can also be played in multiplayer mode via split screen. Those who are aiming for a place in the world rankings are in good hands with World Match, where they can race online against up to 11 other drivers. There are also time trials, custom matches, and race parks for party fun. In short: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers a lot of variety, many customization options (visual and gameplay), and even more content in the future, as SEGA has already announced additional content for the coming six months.
