Lack of Single Player Campaign due to Force Awakens release
For a while now we've always wondered the real reason behind not having a single player for the recent Star Wars Battlefront as it had some great multiplayer action but lacked a key element which most players wanted (including Star Wars Episode 7 Actor John Boyega). Now it seems that EA have revealed the main reason for the lack of single player being due to the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens.
We made [the choice] due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with the movie that came out to get the strongest possible impact. said EA Studios boss Patrick Soderlund.
This isn't the campaign you're looking for!
It's no surprise that the game did well to release during that time with the movie and game both rekindling the Star Wars franchise for a new generation but it would have been nice to get a small campaign (something that the next Battlefront game will hopefully feature).
Star Wars fans will not have long to wait for a story driven Star Wars title as LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens arrives next month (June 28th) and there are plenty of others in production from various other developers.
