Gamescom: The Devil in Me 31-minute Gameplay Video

Supermassive Games continue their saga of Dark Pictures Anthology with another release on 18th November 2022, titled The Devil in Me. The game was presented in details at this year's Gamescom with 31 minute long gameplay video.

At Gamescom 2022, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games (The Quarry) are releasing two videos on The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me. The more recent of the two is quite something. During 31 minute video, those involved talk in detail about The Devil in Me, which will be available on 18 November 2022. The focus is on the characters, the setting, the longer playing time, new features and everything that influenced the team in the development of the horror game sequel. In total, we can see around 16 minutes of actual gameplay here, commented on by game director Tom Heaton.

The Devil in Me video starts off with a short recap of the previously published episodes of the series. We see an old acquaintance again - the "curator", who comments on your progress (or regression) between the game sections and may let you read one or two tips between the lines. Some things are simply part of the Dark Pictures series.

More interesting, however, is the story about the serial killer H. H. Holmes and the three-storey hotel he built in Chicago, which is probably at the centre of the action in The Devil in Me. In this elegant but also sinister building, quite a few hotel guests disappeared. No wonder, because the hotel was riddled with deadly traps, full of secret passages, hidden rooms and walled-off areas.

Second Gamescom video presentation for The Devil in Me goes into details of new features of the upcoming horror adventure.

In less than two minutes, a second Gamescom video for The Devil in Me only goes into new features of the horror adventure. Worth mentioning are the expanded exploration game mechanics, character inventories, puzzles, the extended playtime and, of course, the multiplayer features.
