The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom - Expansion introduces Arcanist as a new class
The magic of mushrooms: With The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, Bethesda is releasing a new expansion for ESO on June 5th 2023. Discover gigantic mushrooms on the Telvanni Peninsula and master arcane magic!
The Elder Scrolls Online doesn't need revival spells for Bethesda/Zenimax to keep the monster MMORPG alive. Regular updates and major expansions are quite enough. And even the expansion announced for 2023, Necrom, comes with so much new content that there is no end in sight to your ESO adventures for the time being. With The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom, a new class finally enters the game and, in addition, the DLC Scribes of Fate marks the start of the new narrative Shadow over Morrowind - with two new dungeons and two modes (standard and for veterans). The Arcanists specialise in destructive spells as well as defensive ones. At the same time, the introduction of the Arcanist class opens up access to the Telvanni peninsula, with its capital Nekrom and the region's well-grown giant mushrooms. If you nibble on them, you might become an ESO-teric.
At Bethesda's livestream event "ESO 2023 Global Reveal", publishing boss Pete Hines let the cat out of the bag. Hines explained that the introduction of a new class was the most requested feature of the ESO community. The new chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online takes you back to Morrowind. There you will meet old acquaintances, such as the Daedra Lord from the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC. Rich Lambert, Creative Director for Necrom development, tells you in the following video what makes ESO Necrom and what "Cosmic Horror" has to do with it.
The Global Reveal video serves up developer commentary as well as the cinematic announcement trailer worth watching for The Elder Scrolls Online: Shadow Over Morrowind saga (from 6:46). Afterwards, art director CJ Grebb takes you on a tour through areas that have been freshly prepared for a new ESO adventure for the first time in 30 years of Elder Scrolls. Marvel at the massive mushrooms and towers of the Telvanni Peninsula, areas some of you may remember from the first Elder Scrolls game, Arena.
