What's going on in the city of Averno? As Officer Nick Cordell Jr., you've just graduated from the police academy, and things are already getting heated on the streets of Averno in The Precinct. High levels of gang violence are unsettling the city's citizens. The murder of your own father apparently hasn't been solved yet. Time to take control!
The development team at Fallen Tree Games (also known for American Fugitive) was clearly heavily inspired by classic police movies. In The Precinct, you'll be out on the streets of Averno, chasing criminals and regularly engaging in car chases with lots of destruction in this extraordinary action sandbox. However, it's not in true 3D in the vehicle cockpit: The view of the action on the streets is more reminiscent of a flight in a police helicopter, thanks to the isometric representation of the world. And that's a lot of fun, as the first two GTA installments also demonstrated – The Precinct plays similarly in some ways, only with a slightly more angled perspective.
As a police officer, you have access to patrol cars, can build roadblocks, and even lay down spike strips, for example. But pictures speak louder than words: Watch the release trailer for The Precinct and prepare for exciting police operations.
